I’m going to tell you the story of this house in the centre of Alte, where once the Ti Guerreira, a fat and squat furnace helped to give birth to most of the older Altenses.

Ti Guerreira was responsible for the public oven of the village and received a loaf of bread for each batch and 2 loaves for each child who was baptised after the one who helped her to be born!

Even today, the door, still of solid wood origin, is embellished with a cast iron beater in the shape of a child, indicating that the village midwife lived there.

The house is habitable, however it needs renovation, but believe me it will be a big surprise when you walk through that door!

With several levels, the house gives us the feeling of being in a labyrinth and becomes the back of it, where the garden invites us to leave.
