Tocha is a Portuguese village, seat of the Parish of Tocha of the Municipality of Cantanhede, a parish with an area of 78.44 km² and 3707 inhabitants (2021 census), thus having a population density of 47.3 inhabitants/km².

The village that gave the parish its name, Tocha, was elevated to the category of village in 1985.

Formerly called S. João Baptista de Tocha, in 1840, it belonged to the municipality of Cadima extinct on December 31, 1853.

Cantanhede is a town in the district of Coimbra in the province of Beira Litoral, in the central region of Portugal.
It is the seat of the municipality of Cantanhede, which has an area of 390.88 km² and 34,218 inhabitants (2021), subdivided into 14 parishes. The municipality is bordered to the north by the municipalities of Vagos, Oliveira do Bairro and Anadia, to the east by Mealhada, to the southeast by Coimbra, to the south by Montemor-o-Velho and Figueira da Foz, to the northwest by Mira and to the west it has a coast on the Atlantic Ocean.
The municipality obtained a Manueline charter in 1514.
