Alvor é uma vila pitoresca no Algarve. Esta localidade encantadora conserva ainda muitas das suas raízes mouras devido ao facto da região ter sido controlada por Mouros durante vários séculos.

O próprio nome de Alvor é bastante parecido com o seu velho nome mouro: Al-Bûr.
